PokéSurvivor Online Beginner Guide

This guide covers the five-minute forest game on pokesurvivor.online. Learn the controls, pick a partner and plan your first run, then return to the arena to try what you have learned.

Before you start / Keyboard

Move, choose and pause

Open the game on the home page, choose a partner and select Enter the forest. Use WASD or the arrow keys to move; all learned moves attack automatically. Click an upgrade card or press 1–3 to choose it. Press P or Escape to pause, or use the Pause button.

Before you start / Phone and tablet

Play with touch controls

Open the home-page game panel and wait for the partner menu. Landscape orientation is recommended for a wider view of the arena; portrait mode also works.

Press and drag anywhere on the arena to move. A floating joystick appears under your finger and follows a longer drag. Small drags inside its dead zone do not move your partner; release to stop. Attacks are automatic.

Tap a partner, an upgrade card or a pause button to select it. The run pauses while an upgrade choice is open. Switching apps also pauses the run; closing the tab ends the active expedition. See what your browser saves below.

01 / Before the wave

Pick an attack style

Bulbasaur starts with a wide Vine Whip that knocks enemies away. Charmander fires burning Ember projectiles. Pikachu uses fast, piercing Thunder Shock bolts and moves fastest.

02 / While moving

Keep a wide loop

Circle the edge of the visible group instead of stopping in the middle. This keeps enemies gathered behind you and leaves a lane for experience drops.

03 / At level up

Work toward an evolution

Collect blue crystals to level up and learn up to four moves. Focus your upgrades on a move you want to evolve, then learn its required passive within the same run. Once you meet the recipe, choose the gold evolution card on a later level-up. Check the moves and evolution recipes for exact requirements.

04 / When a boss appears

Read the warning

Beedrill arrives at 1:50 and marks the direction of its charge. Gengar arrives at 4:20, fires radial projectiles and marks an area for a delayed shadow blast. Step away from the markers. Survive to 5:00 and defeat both bosses to win.

A five-minute checklist

What to watch on your first run

MomentGood questionWhat to do
Opening minuteDo I have a route?Keep moving in a broad loop and avoid corners.
First level-upWhat will help for the next wave?Choose damage or space-making before a narrow bonus.
Screen gets busyWhere is my next exit?Turn early and leave a lane before enemies surround you.
Boss warningWhat area is unsafe?Move out of the marker, then keep the boss at a readable distance.

Saves and camp progress

Coins from drops and supply caches, a bonus based on defeats, and a 60-coin victory bonus go to camp. Train health, attack or pickup range there. Completed-run rewards, camp training and your field journal are saved in this browser.

Switching apps pauses a running expedition. Closing or reloading the tab discards the active run. To finish early and retain earned coins, pause and choose End run & keep earned coins. Return to the same browser to keep using your saved progress; it does not sync between devices, and clearing browser storage removes it.
